Welcome to the Edinburgh and Lothians Area Tourist Information

No visit to Scotland is complete without taking in the country's capital, if only for a short visit. Set amid the smooth green Lothian plains, Edinburgh is a city steeped in history and interesting architecture. It has something to offer everybody, from the buildings of Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyrood, to the new Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh Zoo and the Royal Yacht Britannia. During the summer there is the prestigious Edinburgh International Festival in August to visit, the famous Royal Military Tatoo, the Royal Highland Show in June, and all year there are theatres to visit, showing a wide variety of entertainment to suit all tastes. Further afield there is plenty to do and see, such as the famous Linlithgow Palace, with its connections to Mary Queen of Scots.
