This area offers the opportunity for a wealth of outdoor
pursuits including pony-trekking, water-sports and, of course, golf
at some of the world-famous courses. There are country parks, distilleries
and historic houses and castles to visit, all set amidst a magnificent
rolling landscape. This of course the country of Robert Burns, who
was born in Alloway near Ayr in 1756. Also in this area is the beautiful
Isle of Arran.
